Runtian Jing is a professor of organizational behaviour in the Antai College of Economics and Management of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He received his Ph.D. from the Xian Jiao Tong University in 1997, and taught at the School of Management and Economics of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China before his present appointment. He was a Fulbright visiting scholar at the University of Minnesota in 2011-2012. His research focuses on organizational change, leadership behaviour, and cross-cultural management. In recent years, he is especially interested in developing indigenous theories of organizational change based on the Chinese cultural or institutional context.
He has won 4 research projects granted by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and a number of awards, including Yangtze River Young Scholars Distinguished Professor, the Outstanding Youth Award of Management Research, the Program of the Ministry of Education for New Century Excellent Talents of China, Fulbright Visiting Scholar Award, Young Teacher Award of Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation, the China National Program for Elaborate Courses, the Science and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Education of China, the Best Paper Award of Chinese Theory of Management by the International Association for Chinese Management Research, the Finalist for Carolyn-Dexter Award at AOM conference, the Highly Commended Award of Emerald Group.
