Enhancing China-UK Collaborations in Business Education: Dean Chen Fangruo’s Strategic Visits to King's College London and University College London 2026-02-11

In February 2026, Professor Fangruo Chen, Dean of the Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, led a delegation on a strategic visit to London, United Kingdom. This visit included engagements with two prestigious institutions: King's College London (KCL) and University College London (UCL). The fruitful interactions resulted in substantial agreements, enriching academic exchanges and strengthening cooperative links between ACEM and the prominent British universities.


At King’s College London, the delegation was warmly received by Professor Stephen Bach, Executive Dean, Professor Robyn Klingler-Vidra, Vice Dean for Global Affairs, and Mr. Dan Maggs, Director of Partnerships and External Affairs. Both sides reviewed their respective strengths in business education and engaged in in-depth exchanges on talent development, joint research, and industry collaboration, charting a clear roadmap for future multi-dimensional cooperation.


At University College London, Dean Chen met with Professor Fabien Postel-Vinay, Head of the Department of Economics, and Professor Antonio Guarino, Co-Director of the Centre for Financial Research. They exchanged views on cooperation in academic disciplines, talent training, and joint research projects. In a subsequent meeting with Professor Frederic Malherbe and Dr. Wei Cui, discussions focused on joint master’s programs and faculty development initiatives, laying a solid foundation for cooperation in postgraduate education.


The visits to KCL and UCL represent a key step in ACEM’s global strategy, which have further consolidated ties with top UK universities, expanded channels for international collaboration, and established a solid platform for in-depth global partnerships. It effectively enhances ACEM’s international presence and academic influence.
