The 11th JMA Editorial Board Meeting Successfully Held 2023-12-28
From December 18th to 19th, the Journal of Management Analytics (JMA), founded by Antai College of Economics and Management, held its 11th Editorial Board Meeting at Esade Business School, Barcelona, Spain.
Professor Guohua Wan, Executive Editor of JMA, hosted the meeting. Participants from JMA include Professor Yuan Li from Antai College and Professor Lida Xu from Old Dominion University, Editors-in-Chief; Professor Bin Gu from Boston University, Professor Lingxia Li from Old Dominion University, Professor Chee-Wee Tan from Hong Kong Polytech University, Professor Wei Jiang, and Pengzhu Zhang from Antai College, Associate Editors, Professor Yi Liu from Antai College, Editorial Board Member; Feng Liang, Director of Antai Journal Center, and Yunzhou Xu from JMA Editorial Office. Participants from Esade include: Dean Joan Roden, Professor Marc Torreons, Director of Department of Operations, Innovation and Data Sciences, Professor Nuria Agell, Director of Institute for Data-Driven Decisions, Antonia Maria, Director of International Academic Relations, Josep Alias, Manager of the Entrepreneurship Institute, and other scholars from related fields.
Esade welcomed the JMA team with a short opening ceremony. Professor Guohua Wan introduced Antai College and the major achievements of JMA to the Esade participants. JMA’s latest Journal Impact Factor is 5.9, Q1 in Social Sciences-Mathematical Methods; its latest CiteScore is 10.9, top 2% (#4/262), top 3% (#4/160), and top 4% (#6//160) respectively in three categories. Professor Marc Torrens then introduced Esade Business School, and Professor Nuria Agell introduced the major progress of Esade in data science research.
Following the opening, the JMA Editorial Board Meeting commences. This meeting focuses on the impact enhancement and the strategic development plans of JMA. Regarding increasing JMA’s impact, discussions on topics such as the positioning and target areas, how the Business School can support academic journals, and the comparison between and improvement of Sino-Foreign Academic evaluation systems were made. Regarding the strategic development plans of JMA, participants contributed their unique insights on the standardization in journal operations, innovation in journal promotion, call for papers on special issues, etc. Participants on both sides contributed many constructive opinions. The discussions were diverse and innovative. Esade appreciates the achievements of JMA in the past decade and expresses its expectation to enhance understanding and cooperation with Antai College further.
The JMA team also visited Esade’s major research and teaching venues, including the Pedralbes campus and the Rambla of Innovation in the Sant Cugat campus. Leaders and scholars of the two academies have conducted extensive exchanges in student training, professor development, and academic research, drawing on experience, sharing resources, and exploring opportunities for cooperation. The 11th JMA Editorial Board Meeting was concluded in a cordial and amicable atmosphere.
