FT Masters in Management 2023 Ranking: SJTU Antai ranks the world's 12th and the world's 1st in employment 2023-09-11
On September 11, 2023, the Financial Times released the list of Top 100 Masters in Management (MiM) programs in the world. Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) ranks 12th in the world and 2nd in China, which has been ranked among the top 50 in the world for 15 consecutive years since it first participated in the evaluation in 2009. The sub-indicators of the program are outstanding, with "Employed at three months" ranking 1st in the world; "Careers Service Rank" at 2nd in the world (top 10 for 6 consecutive years); “Salary Percentage Increase” at 5th in the world (top 10 for 7 consecutive years); “Overall Satisfaction” at 4th in the world (top 5 for 3 consecutive years).
The FT MiM ranking focuses on the evaluation of graduates' career development, program evaluation, college internationalization, overall strength and social responsibility of the college. In 2023, the ranking index system has been adjusted according to the latest development of global business schools, including Alumni Network and Carbon Footprint ranking for the first time. SJTU ACEM's Alumni Network ranked 9th in the world for the first time, and ranked 1st in the Carbon Footprint ranking of business schools in Chinese mainland.
Graduates continue to lead in global career development competitiveness, ranking first in the world in employment rate, fifth in salary percentage increase and 14th in weighted salary. The newly added Alumni Network index assesses the supporting effect of alumni network in employment, startup and career development, ranking 9th in the world. Over the past three years, Careers Service Rank has remained stable among the top 5 in the world. Graduates are favored by employers, mainly working in well-known employers at home and abroad, such as China Securities Regulatory Commission, Bank of Communications, China UnionPay, Orient Securities, E-Fund, McKinsey, Alibaba, ByteDance, etc.
The curriculum system of the program is fully aligned with the international first-class institutions, which is based on the knowledge and technology of management theory and system science, economics, mathematics, computer application, etc., and is closely integrated with the latest research in related fields at home and abroad. The lectures are delivered by Chinese and international top-tier faculties. While firmly building up the theoretical foundation and professional knowledge of students' management science, the school has also finetuned the frontier courses of management and attached importance to cultivating students' technological capabilities, such as big data, deep machine learning and computer programming.
In recent years, SJTU ACEM has probed into China's practice profoundly, taken industry research as the starting point, captured the context of China's economic development in order to contribute to the revitalization of industries from the strategic perspective. ESG and carbon neutralization have become increasingly important for the country and the society. Therefore, SJTU ACEM has actively invested intellectual elements in these initiatives. In terms of scientific research and education, the industry research institute covers 8 domains, including new energy, in which more than 30 teams are active in key national industry fields, and the faculty teams have invested in corresponding research and offered ESG-related courses. On the other hand, a smart energy community class was held, where alumni from different industries, domains and projects gathered to explore such issues as environmental protection and energy transformation. In 2021 and 2022, SJTU ACEM conducted greenhouse gas emission audit according to international standards, issued Greenhouse Gas Report and Climate Action, and made its net zero commitment.
