2021 Antai International Corporate Day Concludes Successfully 2021-12-30

2021 Antai International Corporate Day was successfully held on December 15th. With hundreds of international companies and enterprises' presence, the guests shared remarkable opinions on the current situations of the epidemic world and raised practical insights aiming to strengthen the international cooperation among global companies based in China. Deputy Secretary of the CPC SJTU Committee Gu Feng, Dean Fangruo Chen and Vice Dean Haitao Yin in Antai also attended the forum.

The forum began with Senior diplomat, former Chinese Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Mingde Shi's speech, summarizing the current relationship between China and the US, Europe and analyzing the future development tendency. Ten guests from different countries and industries, including leaders from various chambers of commerce and industry in China, well-known company executives and famous scholars, attended the roundtable. They had in-depth discussions on the hot issues, such as rebuilding global business relations after the epidemic and the future development of international enterprises under the de-carbonization policy.

Feng Gu, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, stressed that SJTU has always been committed to standing at the forefront of science and technology and innovation education globally, fulfilling the responsibility of serving the national strategy and the development and progress of human society. The university has always firmly and vigorously supported industry research, management innovation exploration in school-enterprise cooperation and international development. The university hopes to build a platform for communication and exchange through this event and furthermore, to inspire each other, to strengthen collaboration, and to open more school-enterprise global cooperation models.

Dean Fangruo Chen said that in the future Antai would follow the guiding strategy: Firstly, develop a "full-spectrum" value system to modify the current system of performance evaluation and reward contributions to academic fields and industries, emphasizing the crisscross and the unity of knowledge and practice. Secondly, talent cultivation should emphasize interdisciplinary, cross-college, cross-industry and cross-school cooperation and the collaboration with alumni, enterprises, and governments to build an excellent ecological system. Finally, under the “new normal” of COVID-19, Antai will play a more critical role in communication between different countries and communities in various fields.

Held by Vice Dean Haitao Yin and joined by Mr. Christophe Lauras, President of French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China and Senior Vice President of Accor China, Ms. Jelena Grubor Stefanovic, Head of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia in China and Mr. Zhibin Wu, BD Greater China Finance VP, the business experience under the current challenging environment has been shared. Guests have the conclusion that the higher requirements have been raised though, opportunities emerged as well.

The following roundtable transited the concentration to the de-carbonization strategy instead, led by Dr. Guoxiong Zhang, Network Director in Shanghai, Economist Corporate Network. Mr. Nicolas Vix, President of Credit Agricole CIB (China) Limited, Dr. Sigrid Winkler, German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai, Mr. William Chang, Senior Vice President of Sembcorp China, and Mr. Yiwei Wang, Marketing Director of Endress+Hauser China, are as forum guests. Participants believed that the de-carbonization strategy is a policy benefit, which is conducive to the reform, the restructure and the upgrading of the enterprises.

Antai International Corporate Day is an important measure for the college to develop international enterprise relations according to Antai’s 14th Five-year Plan and develop cooperation and exchange relations with various chambers of commerce and industry in China. It is also a vital part of Antai’s internationalization strategy in the new era.
