The Asia-Pacific Final of the 2021-2022 CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge concluded on April 29th. Following a fierce competition, the teams from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, University of Sydney, India Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, and University of the Philippines Diliman ranked the top four together.

In the CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge held over the past years, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) team composed of the students from Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM) of SJTU has always been the best record keeper among the teams from Chinese mainland. This year, AECM of SJTU set up two teams for the competition, including the postgraduate team composed of Yu Jiahao, Chen Jiayi, Jin Yanying, Ling Yuqi and Ni Chenyu, who won the Outstanding Performance Award in the final competition of Shanghai area, and the undergraduate team composed of Jing Haowei, Zhang Liwen, Hu Zixuan, Qian Zejia and Xu Yunhao, who won the recognition of the judges through their in-depth research on LONGi (601012) and photovoltaic industry, rigorous valuation, detailed ESG analysis and fluent expression, and after winning the championship of East Asia, finally ranked the top four in Asia-Pacific Region, showcasinging the professionalism and self-confidence of Chinese students on the international stage.

Since 2016, SJTU team has participated in the CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge for seven consecutive times, winning the championship in Shanghai area five times and advancing to the Asia-Pacific final three times. This year, SJTU team once again advanced to the Asia-Pacific final (only team in China) after 2016 and 2021. In addition to the honor, the students have accumulated valuable experience and professional accomplishment through many rounds of competitions.

The CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge, sponsored by CFA Institute in the United States, is an analytical research competition fully conducted in English for financial students from colleges and universities around the world. Every year, top universities around the world are invited to participate in the competition. The teams of university students will conduct research and analysis on a listed company, demonstrate their ability to write reports and give presentations, and receive tests on how to promote the best methodologies to study shares and analyze companies in the competition.

It's expected that ACEM students will achieve great results again in the next CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge on the international stage!
