Yu Leng is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He received his doctor’s degree in Engineering in 1996. In 1999, he joined Shanghai Jiao Tong University and started his teaching career as a professor in 2001. He was selected as the 12th Shanghai Shuguang Scholar (2006) and the New Century Outstanding Talents Support Program (2009) by the Ministry of Education. 

He is a member of the Market Warning Expert Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture, a member of the Teaching Steering Committee of Agriculture and Forestry Economic Management in higher Education institutions of the Ministry of Education, a national adviser of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) project Strengthening the Capacity of China’s Agricultural Market Monitoring and Agricultural Outlook, and vice president of Shanghai Land Association. 

He has been engaged in research on applied economics (agricultural economic policy, food safety management) and strategic economics (strategic management). He mainly teaches Management Economics, Strategic Economics, and other courses, and has been awarded as “the most Popular MBA Teacher in Antai” for many times. He has conducted more than 40 scientific research projects, including sub-projects of national major science and technology projects, 3 projects of National Natural Science Foundation, key projects of National Social Science Foundation, tender projects and soft science projects of National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education, etc. He has published more than 40 papers in domestic top journals such as Theory and Practice of Systems Engineering, Rural Economy of China, and Problems in Agricultural Economy.
