Fangruo Chen is the Dean and Guangqi Chair Professor, Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. A researcher in the area of Operations Management/Supply Chain Management, he has published widely in renown international journals. He has served in many leadership positions in the field, and has received numerous awards and recognitions. In 2007, he founded the Chinese Scholars Association for Management Science and Engineering (CSAMSE). Since joining Antai in 2018, Dean Chen has launched an ambitious initiative to reform the business school through promoting industry research. He was the MUTB Professor of International Business, Columbia Business School. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and a Ph.D. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Tianhu Deng obtained his bachelor degree from Tsinghua University in 2008 and PhD degree from University of California, Berkeley in 2013.Motivated by Chinese industrial challenges from the manufacturing industry, he has designed advanced supply chain algorithms for companies such as China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC). This CNPC project was one finalist for the 2018 INFORMS Franz Edelman Prize. He has refined the theories in the fields of project outsourcing and intelligent decision-making and published multiple UTD-24 journal papers (OR, M&SOM, JOC).

Peiwen Yu is a professor at the School of Economics and Business Administration, Chongqing University. His primary research interests include data-driven operations and supply chain management. His research has been published in journals such as Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management. He is a recipient of the Excellent Young Scholar Award from National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has extensive consulting experience with firms ranging from start-ups to leading companies in the e-commerce, healthcare, hotel, military and airline industries.

DennisZhang is a tenured associate professor of Operations and Manufacturing Management at the Olin Business School, Washington University in St Louis. His research focuses on data-driven operations in digital economy and platforms. He implements field experiments and uses observational data to improve operations.

Huan Zheng is a Professor in the Department of Management Science, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She obtained her Ph.D. from the Department of Decision Sciences at the National University of Singapore in 2007, and BBA from Antai School of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2001. She joined Antai School of Economics and Management in 2007. Her research interests include Supply Chain Management, Optimization, Data driven Decisions. She has published several papers in Operations Research, Productions and Operations Management, INFORMS Journal on Computing, etc. She got several funds from National Natural Science Foundation of China.

Y. Karen Zheng is a Sloan School Career Development Professor and an Associate Professor of Operations Management at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Karen’s research studies operations and supply chain management problems with a behavior-centric, data-driven, field-based approach. Her research addresses four general topics: (I) the design and impact of online platforms to enable efficient physical supply chains in resource constrained environments, (II) the role of information transparency in driving positive behaviors, especially for environmental and social responsibility, (III) the impact of a supply chain’s structural properties on the behaviors of various stakeholders, and (IV) the impact of consumer behaviors on retail operations. In addressing these questions, Karen collaborates with both public and private partners on the ground to ensure that her research leads to positive impacts to society and practice.
Karen’s research is recognized by various awards, including the U.S. National Science Foundation CAREER Award, the Management Science Best Paper Award in Operations Management, the MSOM Responsible Research Award, and the INFORMS Doing Good with Good OR Award. Karen received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tsinghua University, and her PhD degree from Stanford University.

Guoming Lai is a Professor of Operations Management at the McCombs School of Business, the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests lie in the areas of supply chain management, the operations/finance interface, the operations/marketing interface, energy, and healthcare. Guoming received his PhD degree and master’s degree in Operations from Carnegie Mellon University. He also earned a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in Control Engineering from Tsinghua University in China.

Dr. Ying Rong is a Professor of Operations Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University and worked as a post-doc in the University of California at Berkeley and Lehigh University. Dr. Rong's research interests include service operations, retail operations, operations in emerging business models and data-driven optimization. His papers have been published in Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Naval Research Logistics and IIE Transaction, etc. Dr. Rong was awarded Excellent Young Scholars Fund from NSFC in 2015 and Distinguished Young Scholars Fund from NSFC in 2020. He has received multiple research awards such as the MSOM Journal Best Paper, TSL Best Paper, the INFORMS Energy, Natural Resources & Environment Young Researcher Prize.
