Apart from the long-standing CSAMSE Best Paper Award (referring to the conference website for details), the newly established CSAMSE Management Science Practice Award will also be bestowed again this year. It is a prestigious award to recognize an outstanding piece of work that is rooted in the principles of Management Science and Engineering and has a significant impact on practice. The Award is for an individual or a group of people. An eligible application must provide evidence of practical impact, which is broadly defined to be any contribution to a business or an organization in terms of performance improvements or changes in how practitioners approach a real-world problem. The inaugural award will be given at the conference. More details about the award and the application process can be found here, which is also available on the conference website. The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2021.

Hongmin Chen
Professor,Shanghai Jiaotong University

Hongmin Chen, Professor of the Antai School of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiaotong University(SJTU). He studied and taught at Fudan University, SJTU, MIT and UBC in Canada. He mainly engaged in business model of platform enterprises, transformation of financial and health industry. He published several books such as “Platform Competition” and “Two-sided Markets”, has undertaken more than 10 national projects, and published more than 200 papers at home and abroad. He is the vice dean of the Industry Research Institute of SJTU. He also served as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of System Management, vice president of the Society of Management Science and Engineering of China, the Counselor of Shanghai Municipal People's Government. In addition, he also served as a consulting expert for the People's Bank of China and China UnionPay.
