Conference Introduction
The financial crisis has contributed to an astounding loss of wealth and jobs as many businesses worldwide collapsed or were perilously close to insolvency. While some are trying to point fingers to its cause (one being the possible misguidance of business schools), most are now focused on determining how we can simply move forward. The world economy is reshaping in the aftermath of the crisis, and business schools around the world are responding and welcoming the opportunity to accomplish new goals.
How should business schools properly address the challenges of the post-crisis world? Since some of the more profound effects of the global financial crisis are still being felt, how can an emphasis on adjustment and change help promote business school education?
The 3rd International Business School Shanghai Conference, hosted by the Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business - will take place on the Antai College campus from 17 - 19 October 2010. At the conference, business leaders and representatives from business schools around the world will jointly take the pulse and discern the future direction of international business education, and thereby continue to contribute to world economic development.
The conference theme is "Reshaping Business Schools after the Crisis". Key topics include "Reorganizing the governance, structure, and missions of business schools", "Realigning the business school program portfolio and curriculum" and "Redefining networks of collaboration and competition among business schools".
