On September 8, 2018, Antai College of Economics and Management welcomed nearly 100 2018 Ph.D. and Masters graduate students.
Stepping into Antai, "Dear new classmate, welcome you!" was written on the electronic screen. The decoration of registration office was very warm and friendly, the officers of registration office prepared the timetables, school calendar, and course outline for students. Professor Jiang Sixian, Party Secretary of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Xu Xuemin, Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Yang Genke, Associate Dean of the Graduate School, Professor Chen Fangruo, Dean of Antai College of Economics and Management, and Professor Yang Lan, the secretary of the Antai Institute of Economics and Management, personally shook hands and kindly talked with the teachers and students, expressed welcome to new students, and thanks to teachers and volunteers.
In the afternoon, the students attended the grand opening ceremony at Wenzhitang of Xuhui Campus. “Behave on the best behavior, ask for best knowledge, make a best work, be a best person”, the oath was unforgettable for each one of the students.
On the afternoon of September 8, 2018, the learning guidance conference for 2018 Ph.D student was held in the A507 of the Baozhaolong Library. More than 70 incoming students attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Xue Jing, the associate director of the Academic Affairs Office.
At the meeting, the teachers of the Academic Affairs Office made detailed discussions with the students on matters such as student registration regulations, curriculum plans, qualification examinations, scholarship policies, dissertations, overseas study visits, and participation in high-level international conferences, “TA/RA” applications and assessments, with particular emphasis on the importance of academic integrity and academic ethics. At the same time, the students were introduced to the teaching resources and support platforms of the school and the college to help students develop their academic and practical skills. Afterwards, the teacher answered the questions that the students raised.
