Professor Yan Houmin, Chairman of the PRT, said, “I would like to thank Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Antai College of Economics and Management for your cooperation and support for the AACSB Virtual CIR Visit. In the past five years, Antai has made remarkable progress in all aspects, especially in mission strategy, faculty, scientific research, AACSB Assurance of Learning (AOL) and other aspects. In particular, the ‘Industry Research’ put forward by Antai College in recent years promotes a deep integration between practice and academia, and creates a new business school development model, which is an important innovation made by Antai College. It is hoped that the college will be committed to advancing its industry research strategy over the next five years, providing new ideas for business schools around the world in a changing environment.”

Professor Yang Zhenbin, Secretary of the University Party Committee, said during the meeting, “Under the guidance of SJTU’s strategic goal of ‘building a comprehensive, research-oriented and first-class international university’, Antai College of Economics and Management has been focusing on international accreditation for several years, and has made a series of remarkable achievements in various aspects of the school’s construction. According to the strategic deployment of ‘School as Entity’, the university will further increase its support for the industry research and development strategy of Antai, and make it a first-class international business school rooted in China. Antai’s reform and exploration in industry practice and its experience in international development, especially in AOL construction, should also be studied and promoted in other disciplines of the university. It is hoped that under the guidance of international teaching standards, all disciplines of SJTU will advance.”

Dean Chen Fangruo said during the final review meeting, “Thank you very much for all the work that the AACSB PRT have done in the past three days. The experts overcame the difficulty of time differences and completed intensive work. Such dedication, meticulosity and professionalism deeply impressed our faculty and students. Antai College will carefully study the suggestions raised by the experts, and adhere to the principles of ‘Be firmly rooted in the management practice in China, promote social and economic development, improve economic and management theory’, and carry the mission of ‘Do first-class scholarship, shape first-class talents, enable first-class endeavors’. Antai will also regard industry research as an important means to form a virtuous cycle of practice, learning and teaching, adhering to the strategy of ‘Two types of scholarship, horizontal and vertical, reinforcing each other and connecting theory with practice’ in order to make Antai College a top-tier business school worldwide.”

As the first business school in mainland China to receive all three highest-level accreditations from AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA, ACEM adheres consistently to the high standards of world-class business schools and strives persistently to enhance its overall strength. The AACSB re-accreditation proves that ACEM has made great achievements in recent years, and it will also generate unremitting driving force in our pursuit of top global business education.

Antai Collge of Economics and Management initiated the AACSB accreditation process in 2005, and obtained the first five-year accreditation in 2011. AACSB accreditation is a continuous process of improvement, and at the end of every five-year cycle, a continuous improvement review is required. AACSB accreditation is not only a starting point and impetus to drive the college’s international development and quality improvement, but also is a fine platform for schools to exchange experience and promote the brand among international organizations. In the process of applying for and maintaining accreditation, Antai College of Economics and Management has been continuously improving, reforming and innovating, all for the vision of becoming a world-class business school rooted in China.
