讲座：Political Skill, Stress, and Personality in the Workplace

Dr. James Meurs will give a presentation about his research in the areas of political skill in the workplace, occupational stress, and personality at work. He will discuss some of his published research and some of his on-going research projects. His research addresses several topics in these fields, such as (1) how job performance prediction can be improved through both the Socioanalytic perspective and the use of narrow and relevant personality traits; (2) how interpersonal conflict and personality can influence the experience of workplace stress; and (3) how political skill is important to individual success in organizations. He also will discuss some theoretical implications and future research avenues based on his research
JAMES A. MEURS is Associate Professor of Human Resources and Organizational Dynamics of Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration, Florida State University, April, 2008.His major field is Organizational Behavior & Human Resource Management and support area is Research Design & Analysis. His research and teaching experience is attached. He is the member of the Editorial Review Board for Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, and got 2009 Recipient of the School of Business Administration Outstanding Junior Faculty Researcher Award, University of Mississippi.
