Innovation and Entrepreneurship are two major buzzwords of business and management today. While the world has seen some major success stories on entrepreneurship in facebook, Alibaba, uber, apple, Microsoft etc., there have been more than 90% failures. This lecture will investigate the basics of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship (entrepreneurship from within a company) and its potential role in solving global problems, such as the achievement of the universal health coverage and unemployment.

Guest speaker (Bio)

Prof Pradeep Ray is currently a Shanghai 1000 Talent Distinguished Professor in the University of Michigan Joint Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University where he is the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and a member of the international academic committee of Shanghai Entrepreneurship Research Centre. He has been a senior academic in the UNSW Business School at the University of New South Wales for nearly seventeen years before coming to China. His research interest is the role of entrepreneurship in overcoming social problems (e.g., healthcare) and he set up the first Yunus Social Business Centre in Australia in 2015.
