New Record! The 6th Internship and Job Fair for International Students

November 23, 2018, more than 400 international students explored their career opportunities at the 6th Internship and Job Fair for International Students co-organized by the International Office, Office of Students Affairs and Career Development of ACEM, Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA), and Benelux Chamber of Commerce (Bencham), hitting a new record high in terms of number of attendees.
More than 30 enterprises joined the fair, seeking exclusively international students for internships and full-job positions. The participating companies came from diversified business sectors such as banking, consulting, finance, IT, trade, media, education and healthcare, including well-known names like Huawei, Standard Chartered, Disneyland Shanghai, ABN AMRO, ING Group etc.
At the fair, international students educated in China were demanded by both Chinese companies seeking global expansion and foreign ventures trying to localize themselves. Students were able to hand in CVs and communicate directly to the HR or departmental heads. Many of them got interviewed and conditional offers onsite.
Dr. Donghong Zhang, Deputy Secretary of College CPC Committee delivered the remark at the job fair. He introduced that the Internship and Job Fair for International Students, starting from a small-scale event attended only by ACEMers, has now evolved as one of the biggest and most sought-after career events among Shanghai international student community.
Mr. Gui Chen, Vice Chairman of Benelux Branch of SORSA believed the job fair would serve as an exciting platform to provide a source of talents and promote exchanges between business and students, companies and colleges. Ms. Virginie De Jongh, General Manager of Bencham expressed gratitude to all the co-workers and representatives, hoping the successful co-organization of the job fair would unveil future collaboration.
About Internship and Job Fair for International Students
The idea of Internship and Job Fair for International Students came into being in 2016, in order to further carry out Shanghai’s talent strategy in retaining outstanding international students and to step up support in helping international students in Antai College to start their career in Shanghai. The number of international students in Antai College keeps roaring, so does that of international students seeking job opportunities in the city. The college now has three programs fully delivered in English: Bachelor of Science in Finance, Master of International Business and the International MBA Program, and over 80% of them are looking forward to local job opportunities according to the survey. Now the Internship and Job Fair for International Students has become the highlight among all the career development services that Antai College is endeavoring to offer to international students, and has developed into one of the most sought-after events of its kind in local universities.
